Our vision is to create a security force that not only protects the environment but also empowers Kumasi’s youth. The KKC Protect Forces will foster integrity, responsibility, and community pride, serving as both environmental stewards and urban protectors. By blending security, employment, and civic engagement, this initiative will contribute to reducing unemployment, curbing illegal activities, and building a cleaner, safer Kumasi for everyone. Through the KKC Protect Forces, we aim to inspire a generation that values their city and plays an active role in its well-being while providing them with stable job opportunities and career development.
The KeepKumasiClean (KKC) Protect Forces form a vital pillar in our mission to ensure a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Kumasi. This initiative is not only about maintaining the city’s cleanliness but also about offering meaningful employment opportunities for the youth. The KKC Protect Forces will oversee the maintenance and security of the KKC trash bins, safeguard public spaces, and create a pathway to stable jobs for many in the community.
The KKC Protect Forces will be tasked with safeguarding the 60,000 trash bins from vandalism, theft, and misuse. They will also ensure that trash bins are emptied regularly and properly maintained to uphold the city’s cleanliness.
As an independent security team, the Protect Forces will collaborate with local security agencies to ensure that volunteers and citizens can engage in clean-up activities without fear of disruption or harm.
In addition to waste management, KKC Protect Forces will oversee public spaces, preventing illegal activities and ensuring that Kumasi remains a safe and clean environment for all.
Many youth are drawn to illegal mining (galamsey ) due to the lack of alternative employment. By creating well-paying and stable jobs in the KKC project, we can encourage them to leave the dangerous practice. Employment opportunities such as waste bin monitoring, maintenance, and city clean-up roles will give them a chance for legitimate income
Hundreds of young people will be employed and trained as KKC Protect officers, tasked with managing and safeguarding the waste bins, ensuring proper disposal practices, and protecting public areas.
The initiative will offer training in waste management, security, and urban maintenance, equipping team members with valuable skills that can be applied in various industries.
The KKC Protect Forces will empower young individuals by offering them meaningful roles in community service, giving them a sense of ownership in Kumasi’s future.
